Grace Tappin

Grace has been a dancer and artist from the time she could walk and talk! She was a young athlete competing in gymnastics, tennis, track & field, soccer and other sports as well as studying traditional ballet & lyrical dance at The Joffrey Ballet School in NYC….needless to say she loves movement. Born and raised in Brooklyn and Manhattan, she has been practicing Vinyasa and Hot Yoga for 12 years and teaching yoga and dance for over 7 years. After various injuries from sports and life under pressure at Cornell University’s pre-med/sociology program, she found herself awakening to a gentler form of movement in hatha yoga and purifying style of hot yoga. She also studied Ballet, Jazz and Modern under teachers Sharon Romeyko, Keisha Beckford at Spence and Vinyasa Yoga under Amma Wilson. She opened Move With Grace Studio as a multipurpose space in January of 2007. “I love Brooklyn, I love my community and I wanted to provide a place for people to learn with teachers who carry a philosophy of unity and love in their yoga practice and enthusiasm in dance. And so far we’ve had artists and students from around the world play in our space”

Grace also credits her love of movement from African Dance, Modern, Afro-Caribbean, Contemporary movement and music. She began performing at 6 years old, choreography at 10 years old and has had the joy of performing on some of NYC’s greatest stages. Move With Grace Studio is about exploring our creative side and finding Joy and relaxation through movement; “It’s an honor to share what I love with others in the greater community of my hometown in Brooklyn, NY. I love movement, community, art, fashion, writing and music. Beauty is everywhere!” Her yoga classes are freestyle Vinyasa Flow with influences of Iyengar (alignment based yoga.) Grace also celebrating 3+ years teaching yoga/meditation/awareness based practices for nyc youth with the Lineage Project and Fortune Society. Grace is in gratitude of all of her many teachers, students and supporters!
