For Yoko, yoga is a place where she can be who she is – it gives her a sense of refuge, a feeling of coming home. Yoko has been practicing Iyengar yoga since she completed her masters in sculpture at Pratt Institute. She was immediately inspired to dedicate herself to this practice after just a few yoga classes, when afterwards, she felt like her body and mind expanded like a rubber band. “I am so grateful for this gift. It continually provides me with a sense of well-being and harmony between body and mind”. Recently Yoko has taken up drumming and singing. She believes that yoga provides her with the freedom and courage to just do whatever her heart enjoys and she is grateful that she is able share the art with other people.
