A dancer for most of her life, Tanya began practicing yoga 9 years ago and received her teacher certification from Atmananda Yoga in New York City. She is a distance runner and has completed many half and full marathons and finds yoga to be the perfect compliment by keeping her flexible, relaxed and strong and helping to prevent injury. She hopes to help students understand that their practice can be fun, vigorous, and safe, and a healthy life-long habit that will bring energy and mental calmness along with physical results.
Her teaching style is a combination between Ashtanga and Vinyasa and she tailors classes to keep more advanced students challenged, while providing variations for new yoga students to easily follow along. She has a BA in Psychology and Dance from Hamilton College and has her Masters in Psychology from New York University. She had a pug named Ollie and a yellow Lab named Rio and loves to paint.
Tanya teaches Hot Vinyasa Wednesdays 10-11:15am
