Born and raised in Venice Beach, California, Alma has been dancing and teaching for over ten years, since her childhood days of performing on the boardwalk. She received her training in ballet, modern and salsa from Lula Washington's Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Theater, Westside Academy of Ballet, The Salsa dance company, "Alma Y Sabor" and the performing arts school of University of California, Irvine. After a two year teaching hiatus, Alma is excited to come back to her roots and loves the opportunity to share the passion, training and spirit of dance with her students. Dancing is magical. The opportunity to transform not only the physical but to transcend, cultivate and encourage the internal movements of a spirit on its path in the dance movements of life is the highest reward!
